Did you ever think that fitness helps to make you fearless? In fact, if you apply the principles that you use when you work out to your work, it can transform your life. In this week’s Fearless in 5, we’ll show you how pumping iron not only pumps up your muscles, but it actually builds your muscle memory around being confident.
Tip #1: Try Tabata. If you take a big goal that you have and break it down into six or eight sizeable chunks with some rest in between, you’ll learn that you can push yourself beyond your limits and even with a break as short as 10 seconds, that you can get re-energized and get right back at it.
Tip #2: Weight train. Now you need to know your limits, but if you challenge yourself a little bit every time and push yourself just a little bit harder, either increasing the weight or the number of reps, you’ll learn that you can always grow and develop with time.
Tip #3: Take time to stretch and breathe. Not only will you have a chance to relax, but you’ll get a quicker recovery and you’ll be able to look back and realize while you can’t feel the pain anymore, you’ve still got the game.
Tip #4: Track your success. It is way too easy to forget just how much you’ve accomplished and how far you’ve come.
Tip #5: Have fun. Do things that you love and you enjoy and that make you laugh. For me it’s Zumba.
I’m not just preaching these tips; I use them myself. And I’m proud to share that I’ve just finished a five week challenge and lost 5% of my body fat.
